What is Central Sector Scholarship?
CSSS mostly Known as "Central Sector Scholarship" is a very Popular Scholarship Scheme of Indian Higher Education Department, Government of India, for the Student of Different Undergraduate & Post Graduate College Course. Student Under This Scheme will get Financial Support as Scholarship of Rs- 10000 to 20000 per year by Govt. Higher Education fund for their Higher Study.
To provide financial assistance to meritorious students from low income families
to meet a part of their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies.
Meritorious Student Pursuing Under Graduate Courses in Degree Level and Post Graduate Level in AICTE/UGC Approved/State Funded/Private College can Apply for This Scholarship.

About CSSS Scheme
The Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship (CSSS) is a Scholarship Under NSP (National Scholarship Portal) funded by Higher Education Department, Government of India. CSSS is for the Under Graduate and Post Graduate meritorious students To provide financial assistance while pursuing higher studies.
Eligibility for students who can apply under CSSS
- Under Graduate and Post Graduate students are eligible for CSSS Scholarship Scheme.
- Candidate must be Citizen of the India.
- Annual family income of the candidate must not be more than Rs. 8 lakhs/ Annual
- Students Have to Score More than 80% in 10+2 for apply in Under Graduate Level.
- For Post Graduate Level Students Have to Score 60% or Equivalent CGPA to Apply for This Scholarship. (Backlog Students are not Eligible)
- University/Colleges/Institutions must recognized by All India Council of Technical Education, UGC Act 1956, Medical Council of India, Dental Council of India and respective regulatory authorities.

Un-eligible Students of CSSS Scheme
- Candidates selected under Tuition Free Waiver (TFW) Scheme of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)
- Candidates of SVMCM West Bengal Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme
- Student Getting any other scholarship from other State/Central Government source
- The student has not 75 % attendance and involved in any ragging/Crime activities.
Benefit of CSSS Scheme | Central Sector Scholarship Amount for different Courses
- The rate of scholarship is Rs.10000/- per annum at Graduation level. BA/Bcom/Btech/MBBS/Bsc
- Rs.20000/- per annum at Post Graduation level. MA/Msc/MBA etc.
Scholarship Distribution Category.
- 82000 fresh scholarships application will taken per annum.
- [41000 for boys and 41000 for girls] are awarded for pursuing graduate / postgraduate studies in colleges and universities.
- Students pursuing technical courses such as B.Tech, B.Engg would get scholarship up to graduation level. 4th Year @10000/year
- MBBS Students will get upto 5th year @10000/year
- BPharm or other Professional course or 4 year will get @10000/year
Application Process of CSSS Scheme in NSP Portal
Please follow the bellow steps to fill up the Online Application Form.
Step 1:
Online Registration:
- At first applicants need to fill up and submit the online registration form. They have to Do Self Registration in NSP Portal. Official Scholarship portal of India, » » https://scholarships.gov.in/
- On successful Registration , an Applicant ID of 15 characters will be generated and it will be used to login and complete the remaining Steps of the Application process.
- The Applicant Id is also required for all future correspondences.
- The Applicant ID will also be sent to the mail id, entered at the time of registration.
Step 2:
Online Application:
- Login with the generated Applicant ID, Password (which was set during Registration Process) and Captcha (Security Code).
- After successful login, You will See all the Scholarship Application are On Going.
- For Apply in CSSS Central Sector Scholarship 2021, Click Higher Education Section and You will see the Online Application Form.
- Fill the Application Form Carefully will All your Academic Information, Marks, Address and Go to Next Step.
- After fill Application form you Have to Upload all Supporting Documents as PDF format Mentioned Below.
Step 3:
Upload Documents:
- After successful submission of application forms, the form to upload scanned supporting document will be appeared.
- While uploading Scanned Copy of Image (Photograph) and Signature, please maintain File Format and File Size as mentioned.
- Upload all necessary documents as mentioned in the form.
- While uploading, please maintain the File Format and File Size, as mentioned.
- Files should be in PDF format and size should not exceed 400KB.
Step 4:
Final Submission:
- After successful upload of supporting documents, the online application is shown in view mode.
- You can edit the information if needed at that time.
- Now the submission process will be completed by clicking on “Final Submit Application” button from view application.
Note: Please note that after final submission of online application, the application cannot be edited anymore.
Documents to be uploaded:
- Marksheet Of (10+2) th Std. Examination for UG Level
- For PG Level Marksheet of Final Year.
- Income Certificate of Family.
- Any Government ID Proof/Certificate of identity having phot. (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN, Passport)
- Admission Proof, Fees Payment Slip/Admission Letter.
- Passport Photograph and Signature.
For the purpose of determining the Annual Income of the parents/ guardians of the students, an officer of the State Government in the rank of Joint Block Developer Officer or above in the district/ their equivalent counterparts (Group-A Officer) elsewhere will be competent to issue Income Certificate.
